  • The mosque was constructed in baroque, empire and rococo style mixture using cut stone. The central dome of the mosque which is coated with lead is supported with semi-domes in the corners. The mosque, which has one entry each on the north, east, and west sides, gets light through its windows larger than its doors.

    The mosque was firstly constructed by Damat Mustafa Pasha, the spiritual brother of Sultan Mehmed IV between 1671-1676. Having caught fire in 1867, the mosque was completed in 1874 by the help of Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, the mother of Sultan Abdülaziz.

    The mosque was constructed in baroque, empire and rococo style mixture using cut stone. The central dome of the mosque which is coated with lead is supported with semi-domes in the corners. The mosque, which has one entry each on the north, east, and west sides, gets light through its windows larger than its doors. The niche, pulpit and windows of the mosques which has two minarets with lantern Şerefe (minaret balcony) on the right and left sides of the last prayer hall are decorated with baroque motives. The mosque has two fountains made of marble which are adjacent to the minarets. Ornamental arts of* mosque were made by Calligrapher Mihbub Efendi of Konya.
