    Cave

    Prophet Eyyub (Job) lived in the 8th century BC. His mother being the daughter of Prophet Lut, his wife Rhime being the daughter of Mense the son of Joseph who is the son of Jacob, Prophet Eyyub was a descendant of Prophet Abraham. He is known to have been born somewhere in Palestine or Mesopotamia. He was tested with wealth and abundance of his children. Later on he was infected with diseases. He showed great patience against all these difficulties and he reached the climax point of faith and patience. When his illness began hampering his prays, he begged God, said, “My Good! I am hurt, indeed, and you are the most merciful.” (Enbiya 21/83) And God responded him, saying, “Tap your foot on the ground. There it is the fresh water to drink and get washed” (Sad 38/42) When Eyyub drank the water, he miracalously god healthy again. He lived an other 160 years with his new children. He is known to have lived in this cave for seven years before he got healthy again.

    Prophets are exalted people who are chosen and sent to people for salvation. Then our duty is to read the lives of these exalted people and apply their teachings to our own lives.

    May God not deprive us of their intercession! AMEN!

    The Well

    God provided him with water from this well to drink and wash to get cured from his disease. It is reported that he was ultimately restored to good health with the water from this well. Now, the water is distributed through the pumps to the fountains seen in this monument of patience.
